Three weeks ago I wrote to you to say that Golden Coast was closing temporarily in the light of the COVID-19 crisis but that all being well and subject to advice given, we would reopen on 14th April.

Having looked long and hard at the situation, we have reopened with limited staff and with appropriate measures in place.

The members of #TeamGC that have returned to work have all wished to do so, they have been fit and well over the past three weeks and are not caring for someone who is particularly vulnerable.

Smaller staff numbers make it easier for us to practice social distancing, hand washing, etc.

For the time being, no one other than GC staff will be allowed in the building.

We are already taking calls, answering queries and taking orders for delivery.

These last few weeks have been a shocking and rather frightening time. We have all had to learn to behave in different ways. I think we have all seen our country pull together in support of the NHS and to protect each other.

It’s important that we beat the virus, it is important that businesses survive as well. Over the next few months I think we will all find new ways of helping to make that happen.
